At Sicché we never stop innovating and improving, and so here is the latest addition: sub-questions!
They are an option of our open question that allows you to submit sub-questions (indeed!) - more punctual - but always linked to the main question.
We often come across discussion guides which include several points in one question, or which 'explode' questions into many sub-questions, with the risk of being dispersive or making the discussion too heavy.
Precisely in these cases, sub-questions come to the rescue, which will help the researcher to delve deeper into a particular topic without missing any detail!
Imagine, for instance, that you have to ask consumers for their opinion on a product they tested, and you want to know everything, but really everything, about the first impression...
MAIN QUESTION: When you opened the product, what were your first impressions?
SUB QUESTION #1: ...how do you think the product looked?
SUB QUESTION #2: ... and how did the product smell as soon as you opened it?
SUB QUESTION #3: ... and what about the colour?
SUB QUESTION #4: ... how did it feel to the touch? Tell me about its texture
...etc. etc.!
Considering out of professional deformation we are attentive to every aspect of usability the respondent is guided in the completion by a progression bar indicating the advancement in answers.
On the researcher side they are very easy to set up (they are an option of the main question) and during moderation the researcher will see the entire flow of answers to the sub-questions in one screen (see image below).
Everything clear? You just need to test them yourself!
